Description:

Plan, direct and execute the Emirates Group Retail strategy to deliver higher profit margin and increased customer engagement so that Emirates Retail becomes an important profit contributor to the Airline. This includes 3 retail divisions i.e In-flight Duty Free, High Street LLC and EK Merchandising.


Plan, develop and lead the execution of retail strategy for Emirates Group through retail opportunities to deliver high profit margin and enhance customer experience. In conjunction with internal stakeholders i.e. Service Delivery, Skywards, Finance, Procurement, Corp Comms…etc build an appropriate operating model to deliver on the strategy. Facilitate and empower key business stakeholders to leverage the retail capability to meet their commercial and brand objectives.
Own the Emirates Retail Profit and Loss statements and deliver targets signed off by the executive management. Drive margin optimization by ensuring the right product, price and position across various distribution channels.
Establish an operating model which will allow the business to scale up and drive synergies and cost savings throughout every stage of the value chain.
Engage customers via multiple channels but with a focus on e-commerce. Leverage all customer data and behaviour to create relevant products, ascertain optimal price points and draw customers in by providing timely and tailored offers in line with EK brand. Explore opportunities for possible presence in global markets.
Manage the annual budget for cost and revenues related to Emirates Retail Services and manpower cost.
Develop, maintain and own the Emirates Retails processes and procedures in conjunction with key stakeholders to help continuously improve the operational standards and for smooth and successful delivery of Retail services.
Develop the global product/partner roadmap for the Retail unit in alignment with the stakeholders global and local objectives. Manage and expand business relationships with existing partners and acquire and on-board new partners.
Ensure full coordination with key stakeholders to build and develop organizational capabilities around retailing and hiring/ developing top talents.
Establish a strategy for online shoppoing and ground delivery to maximise the sales.
Responsible for the coordination of third party product provider where applicable

Requirements:

Qualifications
Post Graduate Diploma (12+4 or equivalent)

Experience
12+ years of experience in retailing within a global context (ideally 7+ years in a leadership role)

Knowledge/Skill
Understanding and experienced in applying behavioural economics in a retail context

Experienced in outsourcing

Understanding principles to drive supply chain optimisation

Marketing strategy - new market opening strategy
