Training Pilot, Synthetic Training Device/Classroom

The Training Pilot, Synthetic Training Device/Classroom is responsible for conducting Flight Crew training in accordance with Company procedures and regulatory requirements. The Training Pilot has the responsibility over aspects of the Pilot Training Manual as defined by the Manager, Training and Standards.

Responsibilities include:

· Conducting Initial, Recurrent and Upgrade pilot training utilizing the classroom, the full flight simulator and other synthetic training devices as applicable.

· Providing assistance with research, development and implementation of Flight Crew training programs

· Providing assistance with the maintenance of the Pilot Training Manual as directed.

· The continuous observations of overall Flight Crew performance relative to their knowledge and understanding of standards and procedures.

· Ensuring pilot training records are maintained in accordance with Company policies.

· Participating in quality assurance processes to ensure pilot training is conducted to a high degree of standardization.

· Advising the Chief Pilot (Director) Flight Standards and Training of training events that indicate substandard performance.

· Maintaining Qualifications of a Training Pilot- Simulator (Full Flight Simulator Device Instructor) and Ground Training Instructor in accordance with the WestJet Encore Pilot Training Manual as amended.

· Acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) where required in support of Encore’s Safety Management System and the Encore Safety Manual.

· Participating in Industry Development programs designed to advance pilot qualifications and training standards.

· Ensuring programs are executed in a coordinated and standardized manner and in accordance with Industry best practices

· Completing any assignments related to flight training as assigned by the Manger Flight Operations Training and Standards.



· Have or have held an ATPL with a type rating on a turbo prop or a turbo-jet aircraft

· Previous aviation instruction experience

· DHC-8 experience preferred

· Speak read and write English language fluently
