To help achieve our objectives and to cope with our rapid fleet and business expansion, we are inviting high caliber individuals with a strong and solid aviation technical background to join our renowned Hong Kong based Engineering Team.

The Light Maintenance Operations Manager (LMOM) is the duty holder for ensuring that aircraft delivered from light maintenance inputs are safe, compliant and reliable. The Light Maintenance Operations team uses the Cathay Maintenance Philosophy as the guiding principles and ensures that maintenance inputs in HKG LMMB or any other LM MRO facility are conducted according to predefined Production Plans that laid out details of critical path, resources allocations, spare and equipments requirements, and maintenance requirements (task cards) and documents, etc. This applies to CX, KA and LD aircrafts.

The responsible Manager will lead a team of engineers, working on 24x7 shift pattern, ensure CX requirements on check progression and check management are fully understood by the MRO, and to ensure that aircrafts are delivered back to the operation in both a timely, cost effective and most importantly safe and compliant condition.

Key Responsibilities:
•Accountable for the robust supplier management involved in HK mini-base and overseas
•Ensure that Maintenance Philosophy principles are implemented effectively for light maintenance inputs
•Ensure our MRO providers understand CX business requirements, priorities and the CX Maintenance Philosophy
•Establish check controls and progress monitoring methodologies and execution plans
•Accountable for the performance of our LM Planned Maintenance services providers
•Ensure MRO’s adherence to critical path requirements and check control progression
•NRC vetting and man-hour negotiation arising from LM Planned inputs
•Provide progress update of under maintenance aircraft to IOC on regular basis, and whenever required
•Report to CX ENG team for any significant findings and observations with proposed mitigation or recommendations for resolutions
•Represent the airline/department in negotiations with MROs, OEMs and other external agencies
•Oversee mini-base maintenance costs and develop robust process for mini-base costs management
•Apply Lean on business improvement opportunities
•Provision of recommendations for Lean improvements in the Production Planning Control process
•Implementation of new measurable KPI metrics, forming part of the LMOM section roadmap
•Identify areas whereby aircraft availability can be achieved
•Manage staff and team performance by setting up effective KRA’s and personal development / career plans
•Lead by example, ensure that the team embraces and follows the 20/20 Vision
•Develop a sectional scorecard to measure the performance of LMOM
•Staff development through coaching, on-job-training, and internal / external training

Requirements:

•Degree in Engineering/ Aerospace discipline or other comparable qualifications or experience may also be acceptable
•Minimum 10 years experience in aircraft maintenance, and/or engineering
•Familiar with aviation engineering and maintenance program development
•Sound knowledge in aviation legislation
•Proven experience in aviation MRO vendor management
•Proven experience in managing projects and teams
•Strong drive for excellence
•Strong in communication, influencing and negotiation skills
•Strong in planning and organizing
•Good knowledge in contract development
