Description:

The Revenue Management team manages day to day and longer term strategic revenue optimization for WestJet. What is Revenue Management? It isn’t accounting and it exists in many industries. It is why roses cost more on Valentine’s Day than the week after, why hotel rooms in Las Vegas cost more on the weekend than mid-week, and why sometimes there are seat sales for flights months ahead. Using forecasts of future demand and continual re-optimization of fare structure, in-depth analysis and portfolio strategy, the Revenue Management team balances guest promise with supply and demand. Revenue Management is a blend of art and science that requires the combination of strategic thinking and business acumen and an acute ability to make high impact decisions. The Revenue Management team is rapidly evolving the intelligent landscape of WestJet – implementing creative ideas to capture efficiencies and promote cutting edge analysis and decision making.

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Manager, Revenue Management, you will manage a portfolio of routes to catapult WestJet to a new level of success. You will actively participate in the conceptualization, development, integration, and troubleshooting of new and existing analyses, tools, and reports - ensuring these solutions land with both Executive audiences and front line Flight Management Analysts. You are an integral part of the growth in our airline as you ensure a consistent understanding, communication, and approach to meeting strategic goals. You will wow your stakeholders at the speed of change and decision making you can invoke using a few simple key strokes and amaze them at the revenue-enhancing insights and nuances you uncover in the process.

What will you do?

Accountable for revenue managing a portfolio of WestJet routes. Actively manage the forecast and adjust seat inventory levels and suggest price changes in response to dynamic economic and market conditions.
Conduct ongoing and ad hoc analysis of revenue performance of the portfolio by market – leading to actionable recommendations to the Revenue Management team and stakeholders.
Actively scour the competitive landscape to identify opportunities for WestJet to enhance its product delivery and guest promise.
Employ the Revenue Management suite of reports and tools - utilizing new visualization styles and new metrics to measure or benchmark performance - optimizing the decision-making process at all levels.
Effectively communicate route and portfolio performance to all levels – providing succinct yet in-depth analysis and findings of root cause and utilizing these to enhance portfolio profitability going forward.
Develop strong relationships with business partners and peers as you participate in the development of company-wide initiatives.
Develop and nurture key stakeholder relationships to enhance profitability and success and ensure clear lines of communication with all key areas.
Learn – continuously. And help others learn too!
