Responsibilities:

WORK ACTIVITIES/CONTEXT:

The Facilities Maintenance Technician I - Electrical will maintain all electrical systems in the facility through inspection, modification, and repairs. This Employee will work to ensure all repairs are performed and requests responded to in a timely manner, process daily operational requests, and interact with outside contractors. The Facilities Maintenance Technician I - Electrical will schedule and perform repairs; solicit bids for outsourced services; perform routine inspection of mechanical, electrical and telecommunications rooms; and be aware of all fire protection, electrical and HVAC requirements. This Employee will replace lamps and ballasts as needed; install/relocate fixtures, switches and branch circuitry as required; and maintain inventory of supplies such as lamps, ballasts, switches, conductors, raceways, etc. In addition, the Facilities Maintenance Technician I - Electrical will assist with the operation and inspection of electrical and utility systems throughout all facilities and perform other duties as required. This Employee provides building maintenance services supporting Southwest's transportation operations located in various facilities.

Qualifications:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:



High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education required.

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.

EDUCATION:

High School education or equivalent required.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

Must have minimum of 2 years of experience in corporate office environment, with a minimum of 2 years of experience under an electrical contractor.

LICENSING/CERTIFICATION:

Journeyman Electrician license is preferred.

PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

Must be able to lift and/or move items of 75 pounds or more on a regular basis.
Must be able to climb, bend, kneel, crawl, and stoop on a regular basis. Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

SKILLS/ABILITIES/KNOWLEDGE/WORK STYLE:

Must have knowledge of applicable construction and repair fundamentals, including electrical, plumbing, and mechanical repair gained through trade school courses, training programs, or on-the-job experience.
Strong organizational and prioritizing skills required. Must be able to work through complex problems.
Must be flexible and service oriented in responding to Customers and Co-workers.
Must work well with others as part of a Team.

Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be able to travel on an infrequent basis.
Must be able to rotate for weekend and after-hour on-call duty.

Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines.
