SUMMARY: Reporting to the Director, Project Manager, the Project Manager will be responsible for planning and implementing project management practices within Porter Airlines Inc..

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage company-wide initiatives to ensure initiatives are on-time, on budget and to the quality of internal stakeholders
Create project plans and manage scope and budget
Direct and coordinate the activities of internal and vendor resources to ensure deliverables are met
Lead and maintain quality assurance for projects
Identify risks and issues and develop clear solutions and mitigators
Support the implementation of project management processes and procedures to be used within the PMO and throughout the organization.
Act as a business analyst when required
Actively participate in Porter’s Safety Management System (SMS) including reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understand, comply and promote the Company Safety Policy
Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:

Bachelors or graduate degree in business or related studies
PMP designation or working towards PMP is an asset

EXPERIENCE AND KEY SKILLS:

2 + years of Project Management experience; Aviation industry experience preferred
Experience in consulting is an asset
Experience and knowledge in enterprise wide technology and business projects with experience with external vendors preferred
Demonstrated ability in leading project teams and managing multiple concurrent assignments
Demonstrated ability to think both at a strategic and detailed task level
Strong understanding of project management best practices
Ability to engage and communicate at all levels within the organisation and champion change
Adaptable and quick learner of new tools and processes
Ability to be a strong relationship manager at all levels with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
A passion for the business and an inherent drive to be successful and maintain a good sense of humour in difficult situations.
