Responsibilities:

WORK ACTIVITIES/CONTEXT:

Primary role is to be a creative leader and contributor for our Design team to ensure all content is consistent with SWA brand & style
Trains and mentors junior level designers to ensure highest standards; Must be able to guide others on creative direction without hands-on execution
Maintains knowledge and guides team in best practices related to industry trends and technologies
Takes full responsibility for project managing complex content-related design and development projects
Act as SWA subject matter expert to internal/external Customers with regard to content design and management strategy and tools
Must be able to evaluate and develop business requirements, integrate Leadership perspectives, and provide strategic solutions to ensure optimal decisions are being made
Designs, develops, and maintains content on existing Southwest Airlines Internet sites and Customer e-mail communications
Leads idea concepting and copywriting support for digital channels
Apply technical skills to develop and support functionality enhancements within Southwest digital channels
Apply best practices with regard to search engine optimization
Compiles and communicates the publishing of static content, ensuring that changes and additions are published accurately and on time
Works with outside agencies in a timely manner to maintain consistency of online communications in both the English and Spanish languages
Provides cross-training in project workflows and content management to internal business owners
Performs special assignments as requested by Manager

Requirements:

Qualifications:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education required.

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.

EDUCATION:

College degree preferred. College-level courses in Web design, HTML, Art/Design, and/or Advertising/Marketing experience or equivalent commercial experience.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

5+ years experience as graphic designer including front-end development and project management.
5+ years of experience using HTML, CSS, JavaScript to create web pages and email required.
3+ years of experience working in a corporate marketing, ad agency or digital marketing firm preferred.
3+ years of experience using Content Management System required.
3+ years of experience using Flash, Quickbase, Interwoven/Teamsite, Omniture, Adobe Target and Responsys a plus.
5+ years of experience with various software packages including, Microsoft Office Suite, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, and Dreamweaver required.

SKILLS/ABILITIES/KNOWLEDGE/WORK STYLE:



Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines.



Must be able to work well with others as part of a Team.

Must be proficient with various software packages including, Microsoft Office Suite, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, and Dreamweaver.
Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, Javascript and Browser/Web server knowledge with document management/version control.
Must be as strong a designer as a developer and be able to problem solve both creative and technical challenges.
Must be able to prioritize projects, work with little supervision, and rely on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals.
Must be famililar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within Content Management Systems.
Must have good writing and editing skills.
Must be comfortable working with a wide degree of creativity and latitude.
Must work well under stress, meet deadlines, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, have a strong attention to detail, work as a team player, and work long hours. Must have judgement sufficient to handle and solve complex administrative challenges.
Must demonstrate and maintain an extremely high regard for confidential and sensitive information.
Experience with Flash, Quickbase, Interwoven/Teamsite, Quickbase, Omniture, Adobe Target, and Responsys a plus.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be able to work after hours on-call duty and some overtime.

Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines.
