Description:

FUNCTION: Reporting to the Manager, Production, the incumbent is responsible for the shop and major aircraft components.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for the shop employees, shop tooling, shop support equipment and maintaining a clean and safe shop work environment.
Oversee all shop activities, which include nose and main wheel maintenance, batteries, leading edges, brush blocks, commissary equipment and other components as assigned.
Ensure an adequate stock of wheels is available at all times to support the fleet, including spares at outstations.
Ensure incoming engines, landing gear, propellers and other major assemblies received from overhaul are prepared for installation onto aircraft and outgoing major assemblies are prepared for shipping, including technical paperwork.
Assist with ground support equipment (GSE) maintenance, such as potable water cart sanitization, hydraulic cart service and other support equipment as assigned.
Support the stores department with technical information about unserviceable parts, parts removed for troubleshooting and quarantined parts.
Maintain an AME M2 license and ACA qualifications on company aircraft and assume the responsibilities of an ACA if the operation requires support.
Troubleshoot aircraft structural, mechanical or hydraulic systems to identify problems and adjust and repair systems according to specifications, technical drawings, manuals and established procedures
Repair and overhaul aircraft structural, mechanical or hydraulic systems
Install or modify aircraft engines, mechanical, hydraulic, flight control, fuel and pneumatic systems
Dismantle airframes, aircraft engines or other aircraft systems for repair, overhaul and cleaning, and reassemble
Perform and document scheduled and unscheduled maintenance
Order and maintain inventory of parts and supplies
Actively participate in Porter’s Safety Management System (SMS) including reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understand, comply and promote the Company Safety Policy
Assist on the ramp as required.

Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS:

An Aircraft Maintenance Engineer's (AME) license issued by Transport Canada, M2
Valid Ontario full “G” drivers license
Ability to obtain necessary security clearances and successfully complete the company screening process
