Your new role as Organisational Development Manager will see you leading a national team of 25, delivering on Service Quality initiatives, Communications, and Business Support Operations activities for Qantas Engineering (QE) in partnership with the Qantas Engineering Maintenance leadership team and the QE HR Business Partners and Professional Development team. With a strong focus on communications and cultural change, you will be developing and supporting business aligned workforce strategies to transform and progress performance, culture and capability whilst ensuring recognition, diversity, talent management and best practice principles are embedded.

You will be responsible for:

Leads the development and implementation of the workforce and ‘Service Quality’ [including Value Stream Mapping, Programs, Processes and Training] strategies and plans and drives the development of a business aligned, transformational SQ strategy
Provides leadership, motivation, coaching and coordination across the Service Quality and Business Support workforce – building a high performance, customer oriented and delivery focused team
Manages the Communication and Intranet activities and initiatives, including event planning for major changes and announcements
Ensures all layers of leadership clearly understand the airline’s strategy, values and associated objectives and align their approach and activities accordingly
Coordinates the Talent and Succession planning work across the business including identification, support and development of top talent, identification of critical roles and relevant succession plans for contingency and operational planning and ensuring a strong talent pipeline and no single points of failure
Coordinates the Oneworld HR, Talent and Knowledge Sharing group including events and conference calls and talent sharing
Project management and coordination of people frameworks, events and communications to help deliver a high performance workforce, including Leadership Forums, Innovation and Ideas Policies, Engagement events, Professional Development Conversations, Knowledge and Talent Sharing, Women in Engineering, Diversity & Inclusion, Values Workshops, Recognition & Orientation Programs
Facilitates coaching and mentoring for executives across QE
Provides support and insights to QE strategic initiatives as required.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role you will possess:

Tertiary qualifications in Marketing, Business Studies, Commercial, Psychology or Human Resources disciplines,
Strategic insight and change management
Business and commercial acumen
Consulting and facilitating skills
Creative and flexible problem solving, delivering under intense pressure
Strong project management and coordination skills with the drive and passion to make a difference to the business agenda and deliver results rapidly
Demonstrated commitment to customer service excellence and continuous improvement, lean and ‘Service Quality’ principles
Experience in the design and delivery of strategic workforce programs, ideally including blue collar environments
Resilience with strong leadership skills
Business partnering skills and the ability to formulate effective, pragmatic solutions to meet business requirements and manage relationships across the business
Ability to engage, influence and persuade others to a course of action
Proven ability to use analytical thinking to solve complex problems and with a high level of attention to detail
Executive level communication, written, presentation and facilitation skills
Ability to build relationships at all levels of the business and in particular in the operational environments
Ideally - qualified as an executive coach.
