Reports to: Procurement Manager

The Procurement team supports Engineering requirements through effective strategic supplier management across major spend areas including aircraft, cabin and component Maintenance.

The role is accountable for:
•Supplier management
•Contract negotiation and management
•Continuous improvement and business development
•Setting and managing the procurement strategy, in line with the business, for the spend area and suppliers

Key Responsibilities:
•Represent Engineering during the evaluation process of all new (and existing as required) maintenance products, services and systems for the allocated spend portfolio; assess value-added benefits and economical cost advantages
•Identify, manage and lead cross and inter-sectional initiatives, projects and strategy for Engineering
•Manage the assigned supplier accounts to ensure maximum value for money is achieved
•Co-ordinate commercial issues across all engineering functions for the respective suppliers, seeking and evaluating new or differing sourcing solutions
•Develop appropriate and relevant contractual terms and documentation for the allocated suppliers/spend minimizing commercial risks and exposures
•Lead the RFI, RFQ, and RFP processes and contract negotiation requirements
•Carry out Market and Supplier research for the respective portfolio establishing a solid database of information of current and potential sources, providing and using analytical data as required
•Produce financial analysis as deemed necessary providing supporting documentation and justification for sourcing decisions
•Carry out vendor performance analysis utilizing our own vendor selection criteria
•Manage existing contracts under your account

Requirements:

Job Requirements :

•Degree level qualification (Engineering / Applied Science) or Commercial
•Minimum 8 years work experience in aviation Engineering or Procurement
•Experience in technical and operational aspects will be a definite advantage
•Excellent command in spoken & written English
•Good business sense, commercially aware, able to identify opportunities
•Excellent negotiation skills, both tactically and strategically
•Experience managing and working with vendors
•Strong organizing / project management and communication skills
•Candidates with less experience may be considered for the position of Procurement Engineer
