Description:

The Airline Procurement & Aircraft Trading department (APD) is a centralized organization within Cathay Pacific Group responsible for end-to-end procurement of strategic products and services for Cathay Pacific Airways, Hong Kong Dragonair, Air Hong Kong and other subsidiaries. Its mission is to create sustainable and recognized stakeholder value through procurement excellence.

APD is structured by major category of spend, including : Aircraft Trading, Power Plants, Fuel & Fuel Services, Marketing & Product, Information Technology, and Services & Operations.

The APD – Marketing & Product team is responsible for the following areas of spend :

Seats & Design
In-Flight Entertainment Systems, Connectivity & Cabin Equipment
Marketing, Content & Loyalty Services
Properties & Facilities
Corporate Services (Professional & Staff Services)

Role Profile :

We are looking for a high caliber professional to join the Corporate Services Procurement team and be responsible for the Professional Services sub-category of spend across CX/KA and select group subsidiaries.

Reporting to the Corporate Services Procurement Manager, the successful applicant will lead procurement engagements with internal Business Units and external 3rd party product/services providers in the following sub-categories:

Consulting services (non-IT)
Legal services
Human Resources services
Financial & Audit services
Corporate Insurance services

The successful applicant will work in close collaboration with Business Unit stakeholders (e.g. Product, Marketing, Sales, Finance …), provide category-specific supply market insights and effectively manage sourcing, supplier selection and award, commercial/contract negotiations and delivery performance of awarded suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:

This role will support the management of all procurement related activities throughout each stage of the project lifecycle, including:

Category Management : provide direct inputs into formulating, recommending and implementing relevant procurement strategies within defined categories and/or sub-categories ;
Spend Analysis : track, analyze and forecast spend of each supplier in given (sub) categories, provide insights and proposals accordingly into the delivery of the Category Strategy ;
Market Research : develop supply market insights on key potential suppliers at local and global level, existing solution offerings, market trends, , new business models, etc ;
Demand Management : develop and maintain with BU counterparts a pipeline of potential procurement projects, review and validate BU business requirements, identify opportunities to consolidate or aggregate projects across stakeholders to maximise leverage in the market ;
Sourcing: support end-to-end RFI, RFP, and RFQ commercial process including tender, pricing analysis, supplier proposal evaluation and assessment ;
Commercial & Contract Management : support commercial and contractual negotiations with suppliers on new or existing service agreement; provide on-going commercial and contract escalation support to Business Unit teams during program delivery ;
Supplier Management : establish supplier performance measurements & targets, monitor supplier performance and contract compliance, effectively manage relationships to encourage continuous improvements with existing suppliers and business development initiatives with potential new suppliers ;
Stakeholder Management : effectively develop and maintain strong working-level relationships with BU stakeholders in the category, support preparation of cross-functional steering committees and ensure overall alignment between functions on CX/KA business and procurement objectives ;
Others : provide support to the Procurement Manager on internal improvement project assignments or other assignments as required.

Requirements:

Job Requirements :

University degree preferably in Business or other relevant field ;
Minimum 5 years relevant industry experience in commercial role (with first-hand experience in commercial management, supplier management, project management or other relevant discipline) ;
Prior experience in Professional Services category a distinct advantage ;
Prior experience on ERP systems (SAP and Ariba) an advantage ;
Solid business, commercial and analytical/financial acumen ;
Solid negotiation, contracting and supplier/3rd party management skills ;
Solid stakeholder management and communication skills ;
Ability to deliver results with through structured project management ;
Excellent command of spoken & written English ;
Willingness to travel overseas as necessary.
