Job Overview



As the Manager of Ground School Programs, you will manage and facilitate all phases of Pilot Ground School training. You will provide leadership, performance management and supervision to all Ground School Instructors.

· Train Ground School Instructors in all subjects relevant to pilot ground training in accordance with Federal Aviation Regulations, Flight Operations training programs and company policies and procedures.

· Ensure course currency and coordination with Frontier Airlines’ policies and procedures.

· Coordinate with Flight Crew Records to ensure sufficient Instructor training coverage.

· Schedule all segments of ground school for pilots in coordination with the Director, Flight Operations Training.

· Develop and manage department budget providing explanation of variances as needed.

· Ensure standardization of all subject matter which is taught by Ground School Instructors.

· Maintain and develop the Flight Operations Training Manual as it relates to the ground school program.

· Select, interview and hire Ground School Instructors in coordination with Flight Operations Training and Human Resources.

· Facilitate pilot ground school training if needed.

Requirements:

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation Management or similar discipline preferred; combination of relevant education and experience considered in lieu of degree

· Minimum 5 years training experience in Transport Category Aircraft required

· Previous FAR 121/142 experience preferred

· Previous management experience required





Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

· Excellent knowledge of existing company policies, Federal Aviation Regulations, Transport Category Aircraft systems and Flight Operations ground school training programs

· Working knowledge of PC programs (Word, Excel, Framemaker, Adobe Acrobat)

· Must be able to communicate effectively and positively with others.

· Ability to positively lead and motivate staff

· Possess excellent facilitation skills

· Proven ability to develop new courseware using various multimedia sources-i.e. CBT, PowerPoint, and Internet etc.
