Account Manager for Boston Region (M/F)
This position will be Virtual in the Boston region
Starting Immediately
Home office (United States of America)

The Account Manager is responsible for reaching sales targets and maximizing revenue in the existing business segment for Lufthansa / Lufthansa Group and Joint Venture. She / he manages and develops customer portfolios, mainly through personal sales visits. In addition, she / he applies an entrepreneurial mind set to constantly look for new ways to develop revenue through partnerships, new contracting approaches, multiple distribution options and preferred product displays.

Dependent on the assignment focus the tasks include the following:

Contracting:

Comprehensive preparation of contract negotiations/offer (including quotations) in cooperation with Joint Venture partner and Lufthansa Group contracting team
Negotiate and manage contracts with existing corporate accounts and Travel Management Companies with clear focus on revenue quality and share contract compliance
Negotiate contracts with high potential / high volume companies identified / developed via the New Business and Small and Medium-sized Enterprises group (if applicable)

Steering and monitoring:

Monthly evaluation of portfolio development together with New York District Sales and Account Steering; Insure contract compliance and identify new revenue potential in existing portfolio
Arrange and prepare timely and comprehensive customer visit plan in conjunction with Joint Venture partner where applicable
Initiate, organize and carry out sales promotion activities
Act as a distribution consultant when it comes to existing and future new booking channels and/or methods in order to optimize Lufthansa Group and Joint Venture revenue and distribution costs
Collect customer information and update in Cheetah
Monitor OBE usage
Documentation of sales visits in the Lufthansa / Lufthansa Group sales tools (Cheetah)
Regular competitive feedback

Follow-up and actions:

Follow-up analysis and action plans based on opportunities and requirements out of customer meetings
Direct business cases via New York District Sales, Sales Steering, and Contracting (CCM)
Implement subsequent improvement products/process to relevant customer/travel agent
Forwarding new business sales leads to New Business and Small and Medium-sized Enterprises team
Passing on market and competitor information to Business Development unit via New York District Sales monthly reports
Participation in other duties as assigned including sales promotion events, familiarization trips, local association events

Requirements:

Your profile

High school certificate required
Degree: Bachelor desirable
Professional experience required
Language: English required
Expert knowledge required
Expert Computer proficiency

Other:

Must possess permit to work in the country assigned
Must possess a valid driver’s license
