Network Aviation is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Qantas Group, providing aviation charter services since 1998. We operate a fleet of F100 aircraft. From our base at Perth Airport, we specialise in RPT, mining & infrastructure industry support, routine and emergency freight and corporate charter flying.


We are currently recruiting for a Head of Training and Checking to work within our Flight Operations Training Team.

Job Specifications:

Information reporting to the General Manager Flying Operations and the CEO;
Consistently demonstrate the defined Network leadership values and behaviours;
Development and documentation of management systems and policies that underpin all training activities;
Develop and implement open channels of communication to all Flight Operations staff who are subject to training programs, with appropriate mechanisms to ensure feedback and continuous improvement;
Formulate and implement training programs which ensure the professional development of all Flight Operations training personnel;
Develop training programs that produce measured improvements in Pilot proficiency;
Review regulatory material, i.e. Civil Aviation Orders (CAO) and Civil Aviation Regulations (CAR), to ensure Flight Operations ground and flight programs meet all regulatory requirements;
Develop, implement and maintain management systems in accordance with the Flight Operations training functions, as documented in the Network Safety Management System.
Coordinate the integration of Human Factors, Error Management and Risk Management training into all Flight Operations flying training programs;
Manage Simulator availability in line with the Simulator services agreements and contracts;
Maintain and continuously improve the Training and Checking Manual and all other training organisation documentation and courseware;
Ensure the integrity of the Training Results database;
Direct accountability for CAO 20:11 Emergency Procedures training conducted for Flight and Cabin Crew;

Requirements:

Qualifications and Experience

Required to hold current Australian Air Transport Pilot’s Licence
Capability to meet the requirements of CAO 82.5 Appendix 2;
Experience in a High Capacity AOC CAR 217 organisation;
Extensive previous Instructor/Examiner experience required, Jet experience preferred;
Minimum Aeronautical Experience 4,500 hours;
English Language Level 6;
Eligible for a Qantas Group Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC);
Current CASA Class 1 Medical preferred;
Current Instrument Rating preferred;
Certificate IV qualification or equivalent preferred.

The candidate must also meet the expectations of the Civil Aviation Safety Authority to be approved for the role.
