Analyst, Payroll 12 Month Term



We love to pay our employees and we pay them no more and no less than what they are owed and we do it on time. Reporting to the Manager Payroll and Time Management, we are looking for someone who is excited to join us as Payroll Analyst and be an awesome member of our team.



Responsibilities:

•Calculate and process employee rate changes including the calculate of retro pay

•Calculate and process overpayments, process voids and reissues

•Process benefit amounts as per SunLife including audit/control balancing and overrides as requested by Benefits

•Complete payroll cycle, performing gross to net calculations as per People Forms, from the People Dept. or other impacting departments and/or government agencies (garnishees) audit and control, creation of bank files (employee EFT payments and cheques)

•Creation of payroll journals and payroll related A/P vouchers, submission of final update, approve and post A/P batches

•Process off-cycle employee payments, process employee EFT files to the TD Bank, report to Treasury for funding

•Receive and create bank deposit for employee provided personal cheques, apply payments for LOA benefit and ESP costs, ESP top up, overpayment reductions via LOA payroll process

•Derive and contribute to the creation of efficiency within the department through the ongoing task of process re-engineering and documentation

•Participate in payroll year end, responsible for year end balancing and year end forms creation

•Responsible to report monthly to government agencies as required, filing month end, quarter end and year end reports as legislated

•Responsible to process all special payrolls as required by the business - BOD payments, Profit Share, 10 Year Flight Tax Credits, CIBC Mellon stock option exercise tax remittances, etc.

•Create and manage ROEs as required



So what do you need:

•Indepth payroll understanding

•Knowledge of in-house payroll systems

•Knowledge and understanding of payroll accounting including A/P

•Excellent mathematical and analytical abilities

•Excellent command of MS products, advanced in MS Excel

Requirements:

Qualifications:

•High School Completion

•Minimum 5 years experience

•Minimum of level 1 of the Canadian Payroll Association (designation preferred)

•Minimum of 1 year working within an in-house payroll system
