Lead contact position responsible for driving the development of new reporting tool

Your new position as Management Accountant will see you responsible for performing business analysis and insight and reporting for Qantas Engineering (QE) Service Profit and Loss within the CoFE Decision Support Team.

This unique role will have a primary responsibility to oversee the development of the next generation of Service Profit and Loss Reporting for the business which is a key report that summarises and provides insight into Engineering performance by service and fleet type and is key input into the Corporate Route Profitability System.

The role will be key to developing and maintaining an efficient governance model necessary for oversight and production of reporting in order to meet stakeholder requirements. The role will be a subject matter expert on the application and logic of the reporting and be able to provide expert insight, commentary and advise to users.

Your main responsibilities will include:

Development of business analysis to explain and facilitate review and decision making based upon key indicators, insights and reporting
Maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders and users of the Service P&L information
Development of efficient and effective data capture, allocation and reporting mechanisms as well as suitable allocation methodologies
Champion change management initiatives and application solutions development including management of a comprehensive review of allocation methodologies and technologies along with key stakeholders;
Leveraging expertise in application development throughout the project life cycle and performance analysis with peers who have an detailed knowledge of the engineering and maintenance business
Provide business modelling and analytical skills to the management functions/reporting and business participation
Adapt and develop the various models that customers use in the analysis of financials/events for delivery to key customers
Facilitate the relationship with key users, and provide end-to-end support of the solution including investigation of issues reported, management of ad-hoc and systematic change requests and development of business requirements to drive continuous improvement
Provide mentorship and supervision to peers within the team to support ongoing development and cross-skilling

Requirements:

What you’ll bring to the role:

An awareness of modern analytical tools and capabilities of Activity Based Costing systems such as Route Profitability or product mix systems
Previous experience within change management or a deep understanding of the project management life cycle or change management
Member of CPA or Chartered Accountants Australia
Demonstrated ability to analytically examine complex issues and develop new concepts and Improvements
Airline Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO) experience will be highly regarded
Highly proficient computer literacy and applications knowledge
Effective oral and written communication skills , including presentation skills to persuade and transmit
information accurately
Self motivated with a strong focus on achieving the best business outcome , irrespective of constraints
Effective interpersonal and leadership skills
Ability to work in teams and contribute to a team environment
Effective analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
Project management skills with the ability to prioritise and effectively handle multiple tasks and projects
concurrently

A deep understanding of the associated legacy systems for Qantas Engineering in Maintenance , Repair, and Overhaul activities would be highly regarded
