Your new role as Demand Planning Analyst will see you responsible for the production, validation and first level analysis of the data required to perform Demand Planning functions for all Qantas Catering ports at a National level.

The role will see you prepare and maintain the first level forecast in our forecasting and ERP (QAD) systems. This will drive the Master Production Schedule & then the Centre Production schedule leading to the material, labour & scheduling requirements for the business to deliver the overall financial objectives of the ‘Sales & Operations Planning’ (S&OP) process. You will be supported through this process and overseen by your supervisor.

Your responsibilities will include:

Consulting with Catering Site Schedulers from all ports to ensure the forecast covers lead times recorded in the ERP environment
Identifying and escalating risks associated with Demand (re)forecasts, and preparatory budget data to Financial Teams as the basis of monthly, quarterly and annual forecasting of budgets
Ensuring the transfer of forecasts into the ERP system
Providing first level analysis of forecasting / demand planning outcomes and provide any opinions on process improvements
Monitoring the forecast variance’s determining daily, weekly and monthly schedules relating to the ERP system, seeking to ensure maximum business benefit and minimum downtime
Monitoring and reporting on demand influences in order to produce forecast adjustment, reports and records of the anomaly
Working with the Senior Site Scheduler and Routing Specialist on the Demand Planning component of the S&OP process to identify any process improvements

Requirements:

To be successful you will possess:

Experience with Demand planning/forecasting within a Manufacturing environment.
Tertiary qualifications such as CPIM from APICS in business or equivalent industry experience
Experience with QAD or similar ERP system and Demand Management software
Advanced mathematical and analytical skills specifically statistical analysis and forecasting techniques
Advanced computer literacy including strong spread sheeting competency and database management skills
Advanced technical and theoretical knowledge of demand forecasting and planning
Proven track record as an analyst
Ability to work with and refine forecasting methods and tools
Ability to interpret data and make commercial recommendations
Excellent Interpersonal skills, the incumbent is required to liaise with senior management and production teams
Excellent written and oral communication with proven abilities in business communication analysis, evaluation and report writing
