Airlines - In Flight Staff

In this role, you will be primarily responsible for the Aircraft Performance of Qatar Airways Fleet. You will supervise the Flight Operations Engineers assigned under you to provide technical support to the Flight Operations Department and Flight Crew. You will ensure the aircraft operations is conducted in a safe and economical manner satisfying all related regulatory and manufacturer requirements.

Your scope of work includes monitoring engine / airframe degradation, preparing take-off, landing and en-route performance data including departure and arrival procedure design for all Qatar Airways destination / destination alternate / en-route alternate airports, establishing Weight & Balance Data and following up with Performance Guarantees and Fuel Retention. You will be expected to manage Technical Projects and track service bulletins, engineering orders and airworthiness directives.

You are expected to establish the department objectives and priorities to align with and support business objectives. Train and develop other employees and support the Manager Flight Operations Engineering in technical projects and deputize him as and when required.

About You:

To be successful in this role you must have a Bachelor of Engineering – Aeronautical / Aerospace / Mechanical or alternatively Electronic Engineering with a minimum of 5 years Flight Operations Engineering experience preferably within an airline operations environment. You are also expected to have attended the following training courses:-

Airbus / Boeing Performance Engineering Course
Airbus / Boeing Weight & Balance Training
Airbus WINPEP, LPC - FlySmart, LTS & Documentation Training
Boeing Software / PET / OPT / BCOP / Operations Training

You should also be professionally equipped with Aircraft systems, operations and performance with excellent IT skills including Light programming. Excellent communication and analytical skills, good understanding of Aircraft Weight & Balance with project management experience and the ability to deliver tasks within tight deadlines is very much needed in this role.
