Responsibilities:
This position resides within the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) organization but is embedded and supports the Technology and Corporate Delivery Departments. This position reports to the Senior Manager who leads the team that partners with Technology/Corporate Delivery Leaders to produce and monitor the Technology/Corporate Delivery Departments’ operating and capital expenditure annual operating plans, mid-term plan, and monthly forecasts, as well as supporting many other ad hoc requests. The Technology/Corporate Delivery Departments have the 2nd largest capital expenditure budget in the company driven by their integral role in all major projects within the Company and provide this position with visibility into all departments in the Company based on the nature of the projects. This position will work closely with Technology/Corporate Delivery VPs, Directors, and Managers; Supply Chain Management, Financial Accounting, and other FP&A groups.

Leads and owns execution of analyses related to own area and to support business and strategic decisions.
Leads Teams that provide analysis, expertise, and decision support to internal and external partners and functions.
Ensures Team prepares and presents analytical results and facts in a format that is clear understandable and actionable.
Acts as a representative of area and makes presentations to various internal and external partners and functions.
Builds up Team’s knowledge of airline industry, Southwest, and area.
Mentors, coaches, and develops financial, analytical, and leadership acumen in direct reports to ensure depth and strength of organization.
Represents the role model of a healthy and spirited department and Team culture.
Responsibilities:
Leads Team(s) that are responsible for providing business support and guidance in area of expertise and related to company strategic and business decisions and projects.
Provides technical guidance on principles and topics within area of expertise.
Oversees, leads, and presents timely and actionable highly visible/complex projects or tasks, including the preparation and communication of analytical efforts and proposals.
Ensure high quality execution of projects, initiatives, cross functional programs, and tasks.
Lead interactions with other Teams and departments.
Ensure Team experiences a healthy and spirited Team Culture where all employees receive the training, experience and nurturing they need to pursue successful careers.
Guide innovation, business process, and tool development ensuring business needs are met.
Must be able to meet any physical ability requirements listed on this description.
May perform other job duties as directed by Employee’s Leaders.
Requirements:
Qualifications:
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education required.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.
EDUCATION:
High School diploma or equivalency required.
Four year college degree required; aviation, business, finance or economics is preferred.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of four to seven years of experience in airlines or corporate planning required.
Minimum of 3 years managing people or leading/influencing Teams required.
Experience in the airline or transportation industry preferred.
Proficiency in performing business forecasting preferred.
Demonstrated experience with Microsoft products required.
LICENSING/CERTIFICATION:
CPA or CMA preferred.
