Job Information:

As General Manager you will be accountable for a $120m P&L with full responsibility for leading a complex aviation operation within a fast growing and dynamic publicly listed aviation business. You will devise and execute a strategy for organic growth, while driving improvements in efficiency and effectiveness of all aspects of day to day operations, ensuring you achieve or exceed safety, operational, customer satisfaction and financial objectives.

The Role:

Devise and execute a strategy for UK Aviation in line with the Company’s vision and strategic objectives.
Develop annual business plan to achieve agreed financial and non-financial targets, supported by specific, measurable objectives.
Guide and direct the management team, flowing down goals, objectives and priorities.
Create and develop an organisation that proactively provides outstanding client care. Encourage and facilitate team working as well as excellence in individual performance.
Ensure policy adherence and develop and improve procedures to assure safety of personnel, protection of customer aircraft, while enhancing the quality, accuracy and efficiency of departmental business processes.
Work with other divisions and functions as a key stakeholder to develop and implement business improvements including new processes and technology solutions.
Take lead responsibility of Aircraft Management client relationships, assuring effective communications and delivery excellence to ensure client retention and onward referrals.
Develop and nurture third party relationships including with industry bodies and other influential stakeholders such as financial institutions, insurance companies etc. Create a and actively progress a pipeline of new managed aircraft to grow the managed fleet.
Support merger and acquisition activities, taking responsibility for the integration of client relationships from any acquired entities into the UK Air operations.

Requirements:

Candidates will need to demonstrate a track record of delivering sustained business performance, driving change, and developing dynamic and motivated teams. Key characteristics will be as follows:

A strong, natural leader with a proven track record of senior general management in the aviation industry
Demonstrates successful financial performance and strategy execution capability.
Outstanding team building and communications skills, fostering a positive organisational culture and delivering continuous improvement with a multi-faceted team.
Customer-focused with proven ability to win and retain large service contracts, forming trusted and durable customer relationships.
Sound knowledge of the aviation industry and its safety and compliance requirements.
Strong business and commercial acumen with experience of substantial P&L management and astute financial decision making.
Strong influencing skills and ability to build relationship with executive stakeholders.
Confident, tenacious and assertive with strong negotiation skills.
Willing and able to act as an exemplar for company values.
Experience in a senior role within an international organisation or working with international partners highly desirable.

Salary: £80,000 – £100,000
