Position Overview

Position: Duty Station Manager
Salary: $72,000 - $84,000/annum
Job status: Full-time, permanent position

Primary Purpose of Position

Hainan Airlines is seeking a Duty Station Manager to manage local terminal operations in its Toronto Pearson International Airport location.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Fulfill flight handling and other relevant business matters in the airport while maintaining the highest level of customer service experience;
• Organize ground handling and coordinate route launching procedures for new or chartered routes in an accurate, timely manner;
• Ensure compliance with all legislative security requirements, performing periodic audits to ensure quality assurance;
• Handle irregular situations in a responsible manner in line with company standard operating protocol;
• Manage irregular flight handling materials;
• Ensure flights leave on time whenever safely possible;
• Coordinate document transfers to ensure smooth terminal operations;
• Determine and charge excess luggage fees as necessary;
• Maintain, evaluate, and improve upon working procedures and systems at the local terminal to ensure adherence to process standards;
• Ensure compliance with all relevant aviation regulations;
• Comply with corporate and legislative documentation requirements, including recording the Flight Handling Journal and weekly Production and Operation logs;
• Receive and resolve service complaints from airport passengers and other customers, while collecting customer feedback for continuous improvement;
• Manage and handle routine reception of guests and customers, and offer local translations as necessary;
• Oversee and manage station revenues and expenditures, maintain station profitability;
• Manage station staff, ensuring compliance to corporate standards while contributing to a superb customer experience;
• Liaise and maintain positive working relationships with local airport agencies and authorities.

Qualifications

• University or college degree in business administration or a related field;
• 2+ year(s) of experience in airline duty station management;
• Extensive understanding and experience of airline ground handling, passenger handling, aviation safety and security procedures, and all applicable regulatory guidelines including relevant cargo licenses and dangerous goods handling;
• Strong financial planning and budgeting skills;
• Excellent oral and written communication skills while maintaining professional composure at all times;
• Good computer proficiency;
• Demonstrate strong time management skills while working under pressure;
• Outstanding interpersonal skills, able to communicate effectively and positively with customers and all levels of airline and airport staff;
• Able to adapt to situations while maintaining strong customer focus;
• Able to lift and move up to 70 pounds;
• Able to work off-hour, on-call, and emergency shifts as necessary;
• Able to communicate in English orally and in writing;
• Mandarin is an asset as most customers will be Mandarin speaking;
• Able to pass mandatory criminal record check and airport security clearance.
