Description:
We are looking for a Depot Integration Engineer.
The location of the role will is initially based in Milton before transferring to the construction site offices in Ipswich Queensland.
The Depot Integration Engineer will be responsible for interfacing with the Constructor and the Availability & Maintenance (A&M) Team to ensure that the design of the depot meets the contractual and maintenance requirements.
The role will also interface with the vehicle engineering team to ensure that the design of the depot and the major equipment installed interface with the vehicle.
There will also be supplier facing responsibilities regularly requiring the candidate to lead discussions with the Constructor, Depot Designer and Architect on technical design issues, as well as equipment suppliers.
Depot Design and Engineering
- Ensure that the Depot Design is able to meet the maintenance requirements for the duration of the concession period (30years) associated with
- Planned Maintenance activities
- Unplanned Maintenance activities
- Vehicle Overhauls
- Component Repairs and Overhauls.
- Lead regular reviews with the A&M Team on the progress of the design, and its impact on maintenance activities.
- Represent the Bombardier in design review meetings with the constructor, Project Co and The State to ensure all contractual requirements are included within the Depots design.
- Represent the Depot team in design review meetings with key vehicle and maintenance subcontractors/subdivisions/suppliers to ensure all requirements are included within the Depots design.
- Led and manage engineering changes in the Depot design within the scope of the contract.
- Validate the whole of life maintenance schedule, and how this will translate in to daily depot operations.
- Support the production of the depots operating philosophy for key maintenance activities and ensure that these meet the requirements of the maintenance schedule.
- Support the design review process ensuring that all design documents are submitted on time to the customer and that review periods are maintained.
- Ensure that the Depot design provides for a safe working environment and that OHSE and Human Factors are included within every aspect of the design.
- Lead regular reviews with the vehicle engineering team to ensure the vehicle specification is transferred to the depot designers and the major equipment suppliers.
- Produce detailed technical requirement documents (TRDs) for each of the major pieces of equipment to be installed within the depot.
- Review specialist tooling requirements with the maintenance team and ensure that these are captured within the depot requirements.
- Ensure that the depot equipment has maintenance contracts aligned with the maintenance MCM.
General
- Lead the design activities during the concept and final design phases interfacing with the Constructor, Rolling Stock and A&M Engineering teams.
- Ensure that the Depot performance specification requirements are compliant during Design and Construction.
- Support the verification and validation management process through the Design, Construction and testing Doors system.
- Maintain records of overruns in the design review process and the cause of each delay.
- Support the Project Change Request process (PCRs) during the design phase of the project.
Requirements:
Qualifications
As our ideal candidate, you possess:
- Educated to degree level in an engineering or railway related discipline.
- Have a rolling stock maintenance background within an EMU depot.
- Communicates well at all levels with the organisation as well as across multi functional departments.
- The ability to take responsibility for complete work packages.
- Proven experience with designing or commissioning a new depot would be advantageous.
- Works independently using own initiative.
- Computer literate including a good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, and Microsoft Access,
- good Communication written and oral skills at all levels within the organisation.
- Able to resolve conflicts and to provide leadership for the depot engineering team.
- Delegate responsibility as required and as appropriate.
