FUNCTION: Reporting to the Director, Brand & Creative Services, the Designer, Interactive and Email Marketing has two key objectives. First, the Designer owns Porter’s email design strategy and leads the execution of campaigns to maximize channel performance. Seeks solutions to make emails highly distinctive, dynamic and relevant. Second, the Designer is the key design role that sets the company’s standard for highly distinctive and interactive marketing assets that bring the unique Porter brand to life in highly engaging experiences. In both cases the Designer will provide digital and usability strategy based on data from campaign performance, prior experience and industry best practices.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Designer, Interactive and Email Marketing is responsible for translating marketing strategies into digital, interactive and email assets. Includes the development of creative concepts, animation storyboards, landing experiences and emails. Also includes the production of these assets and the personalization of content to meet the requirements of various market segments (customer type, product types and geographic origin). For some campaigns, will execute asset production for concepts designed by Porter’s brand and/or digital agencies.
•Develops digital creative concepts in accordance with industry best practices and Porter’s brand guidelines.
•Produces digital assets, often in support of a broader campaign that likely also includes non-digital assets. Includes the programing of Flash/HTML5 animations, production of web site and media banners, web site banners and landing experiences.
•Develops, produces optimizes both unique and templated marketing e-mails.
•Develops transactional emails to support web site commerce and communication
•Assists in developing web site and mobile user experiences.
•Actively participate in Porter’s Safety Management System (SMS) including reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understand, comply and promote the Company Safety Policy.
•Other design duties as assigned, including print advertising and print collateral.
Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
•Strong design portfolio and design esthetic with 4+ years’ experience developing digital marketing asset concepts and storyboards, including static and interactive banners, landing experiences and emails
•3+ years experience in email and digital marketing design and production with strong work experience in developing data-driven design strategies
•Highly proficient with design software, Flash/HTML5 action scripting, Photoshop, Illustrator and MacOS interface design principles
•Must demonstrate a solid understanding of web design principles with working experience in current web technologies (HTML, CSS/CSS 3, JavaScript, Java, C#, PHP)
•Experience designing both brand and direct response digital and email campaigns
•Passion for design, digital and the data that drives it
•Strong ability to manage to tight production deadlines
•Strong ability to translate marketing objectives into strong and effective digital designs
