Role Summary



Responsible for the development, implementation, and management of Flight Operations Quality Programs and Manuals in accordance with Transport Canada, FAA and IATA requirements.





Duties



· Manage the Safety Management Systems (SMS) - Flight Operations Quality component as required by Transport Canada regulations

· Develop and manage the content of the Operations Procedures Manual (OPM) for compliance to regulations and standards and provide direction and assistance to department leaders in developing and maintaining process work instructions.

· Conduct root cause analysis and assist the Flight Operations department leaders to develop corrective action plans resulting from internal/external audit findings and Transport Canada surveillance inspections.

· Manage the audit record keeping process including the tracking of findings, observations and corrective action plans in the quality database.

· Assist in the determination of key performance indicator standards for proactive risk management processes.

· Assist Flight Operations leadership in the development of Quality Control (QC) sampling programs and to conduct samplings as required on various operational processes.

· Review IOSA and Transport Canada regulations, standards, advisory circulars and industry best practices for significant changes and determine revisions to documentation as required.

· Maintain IOSA; ORG, FLT, CAB and DSP standards and reference checklists.

· Oversee the Flight Data Monitoring (FDM) as the liaison between Flight Operations management and the WJPA gatekeepers.

· Represent the interests of Flight Operations Quality as an active member of the Safety Actions Committee (ESAC).

Requirements:

Requirements



· Must have at least 2 years operational experience for a CARs 705 air operator

· Currently holds or has held a Commercial Pilot License (or higher) or Flight Dispatcher Certificate

· Previous Quality or Safety Management System experience is required

· Formal auditor training is required

· Formal safety investigator training is required

· Must have extensive knowledge of IATA Operational Safety Standards and Canadian Aviation’s Regulations

· Bachelor degree or Aviation Diploma is preferred.
