Overview
Manages a key functional department and may serve as Manager on Duty, overseeing entire kitchen on some shifts. Responsible for financial, operational, quality and regulatory performance of the assigned department and at times entire kitchen . Oversees the staff, manages resources, schedules and performance issues. Responsible for production schedules, timeliness and quality of the product.

Manages the assigned functional department, coordinates production/transportation schedules with other departments to meet overall operational needs of the kitchen
Serves as Manager on Duty frequently
Supervises employees, responsible for employee scheduling, attendance, discipline, payroll, interviewing, accident investigation and safety awareness
Responsible for departmental quality, productivity, overall performance, food safety compliance, regulatory compliance and departmental safety programs. Establishes department goals and objectives to support kitchen and corporate initiatives
Participates as a member of the kitchen leadership team to ensure corporate and local policy and procedures are implemented and maintained
Participates with kitchen and corporate resources to implement Lean processes and objectives into the production process
Departmental Operational, Safety and Financial targets met including delay performance, customer satisfaction, employee safety and productivity
Regulatory standards met or exceeded within the department
Strong employee satisfaction
Effective support and management of work group
Education
BA degree or equivalent work experience required.
Knowledge and Skills
Knowledge of catering operations required
Strong leadership skills required
Ability to work in a high paced environment and in temperature controlled (cold) production areas required
Ability to effectively work with all levels of the organization, employees and outside suppliers required
Excellent written and verbal communications skills required
Strong computer skills including use of email, Word, Excel and PowerPoint required
Fluent in English required
Ability to work various shifts within a 24/7 operation, including weekends and holidays required
CDL (commercial driver license) Type A or B preferred
Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement experience preferred
Other
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
Must be eligible to obtain and maintain credentials necessary for the position. Position-specific clearances may include but are not limited to FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal Services clearances.
