Responsibilities:

GENERAL:

The Supplier Performance Management Team develops and analyzes operational performance metrics used to drive supplier compliance with: contracts, corporate standards, policies, and regulatory requirements. The team facilitates supplier development in order to cultivate a high-performing and collaborative supply-base to benefit SWA with best in class airline - supplier relationships.



DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Conduct research and handle special projects as assigned by Leadership to support the goals and objectives of Southwest Airlines Supply Chain.

Build spreadsheets/databases, perform business analysis, develop reports/presentations and facilitate process improvement within Southwest Airlines’ Supply Chain.

Assist in communicating with internal customers and gathering information for analysis and reporting.

Run queries to identify key supplier contract deliverables and their performance to the requirements.

While there may be some data entry required, the goal of this internship is to leverage technology for analysis and reporting of existing data.

Qualifications:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education required.

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.



EDUCATION:

Progress toward undergraduate in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Information Systems, or Aviation related field.

Minimum Junior level.

To be eligible must be currently enrolled as a full time student (minimum 12 credit hours).

Maintained 2.75 or above cumulative GPA.



SKILLS/ABILITIES/KNOWLEDGE/WORK STYLE:

Works well in a culture that is open, direct, respectful, courteous and compassionate.

Ability to work independently and the willingness to function as a part of a team.

Ability to execute and conduct analysis, as well as synthesize information.

Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite, especially Excel and Access.

Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Must be detail oriented, meet deadlines, and exhibit excellent organizational skills.

Experience with Crystal Reports and/or SAP Business Objects a bonus.

Knowledge or experience in the Aviation Industry preferred.

TIME COMMITMENT:

Full-time, 40 hours per week.



PAY:

$13.00/hr + flight privileges
