Responsibilities:

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:



The Maintenance Contract Services Analyst Intern will be expected to perform one or more of the following roles - developer, technical business analysis, reporting specialist, and data miner.



The Intern will assist in communicating with internal customers and gathering information for analysis and reporting. These individuals will be responsible for running queries to identify key contract information and the relationship to current maintenance processes of Southwest Airlines. The goal of this internship is to leverage technology for information gathering and reporting.



Individuals are expected to have experience with SQL, VBA, Excel, and developing/maintaining Access databases.



Experience with C, C#, or Java is preferred.

Qualifications:



BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:



High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education required.



Must be at least 18 years of age.



Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.



EDUCATION:



Progress toward undergraduate in Management Information Systems, IT, Computer Science, Business Administration, or Aviation related field.



Minimum junior level.



To be eligible must be currently enrolled as a full time student (minimum 12 credit hours).



Maintained 2.75 or above cumulative GPA.



SKILLS/ABILITIES/KNOWLEDGE/WORK STYLE:



Possess working knowledge of using Business Intelligence Tools and Data Mining – SAS, Oracle, Crystal Reports, SAP Business Objects, Hyperion, Infoview, XML, Access, and Java Script.



Classroom and/or industry experience using programming languages SQL and VBA preferred.



Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio is a bonus.



Adapts to and uses technology to improve the effectiveness established processes, increase efficiencies, and quickly complete work objectives.



Problem solving ability and strong written/verbal communications skills.



Ability to stay organized and manage multiple and concurrent assignments.



Knowledge or experience in the Aviation Industry preferred.



Involvement in organizations, social service, and leadership roles.



Works well in a culture that is open, direct, respectful, courteous and compassionate.



Looking for candidate who is a quick learner, self-motivated, and a team oriented.
