Responsibilities:

WORK ACTIVITIES/CONTEXT:

Primary point of contact for Tooling and Equipment Program.
This position will lead projects related to Departmental needs for Tooling and Equipment.
This position will work closely with Regulatory Affairs on Regularity and Compliance Initiatives, Safety and Quality and will serve as the subject matter expert for Tooling and Equipment.
Respond to regulatory concerns, corrective action requests, and other related documents that may arise from regulatory agencies and internal SWA departments. This would include MPM updates when necessary.
Monitor service levels of various support groups to ensure Positively Outrageous Service is offered to Production. Take action when necessary to improve Performance.
Ensure processes are followed in accordance with MPM.
Lead projects to completion.
Conduct periodic station visits to ensure end users needs are met.
Lead Tool Review Committee so tooling requests are Safety #1, collaborative effort exists between cross-functional groups and funds are spent appropriately.
Oversee compliance of Tooling Program for Aircraft Essential Maintenance Providers.
Develop Specialist to achieve high level of success.
Must be able to work with other groups inside and outside SWA to ensure Program success.
Manages projects using standardized project management methodology and procedures.
Works on projects of diverse scope. Can execute projects that are not fully defined
Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and proven organizational skills
Can execute project plans, implementation plans and is able to manage multiple large project simultaneously
Generate analysis, presentations, and recommendations in support of the Procurement, Planning, and Production teams to improve efficiency and reduce unscheduled aircraft down time
Develop relationships and partner with other SWA functional areas such as Production, Purchasing, Planning, Engineering, Quality and Material Stores to drive maximum customer satisfaction and profitability
Develop key performance reports and distribute them to appropriate stakeholders
Perform industry, competitor, and customer research to identify trends, potential risks, and opportunities
Provide analytical support for projects, new business opportunities, and proposals
Investigate problems, find root causes, and implement solutions
Provide timely updates and analysis to Supply Chain partners to identify scenario planning opportunities
Prepare various periodic or ad hoc analysis / reports to help manage the tooling program
Provide periodic updates of project health, progress, and potential risks

Must be able to meet any physical ability requirements listed on this description.



May perform other job duties as directed by Employee’s Leaders.

Requirements:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:



High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education required.

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.

EDUCATION:



College degree preferred or equivalent work experience.



Airframe & Power Plant license is preferred





WORK EXPERIENCE:



Experience in Maintenance, Supply Chain, or other operational departments within Southwest Airlines preferred.



Supervisor or Management experience preferred.



Project Management experience required.



Maxi-Merlin experience would be beneficial.



PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

Must be able to perform physical activities such as lifting (SOibs.), standing, sitting, driving, pulling, pushing, squatting, hearing, climbing, walking, kneeling, reaching, crawling, writing, seeing and speaking.

Must have physical abilities sufficient to work in the vicinity of ramps, warehouse, and at a fast pace.





SKILLS/ABILITIES/KNOWLEDGE/WORK STYLE:

Ability to speak about both technical and business related topics to SWA Leadership is a must
Must possess good written and oral skills, with the ability to organize and teach.
General knowledge of FAA regulations specific to 14 CFR Part 121 air carrier operations
Computer skills should include but are not limited to working with Microsoft Office software, such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Familiarity with Company manuals.
Must have the ability to work under stressful situations and manage time effectively. Must have the ability to prioritize tasks to meet department objectives and goals.
Mental demands include, but are not limited to: detailed work, confidentiality, reading documents, problem-solving, stress, mathematical ability, reasoning, meet and interact with various departments, multiple concurrent tasks, and constant Interruptions.

Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

Travel and extended work hours may be necessary at times.
Residency within the Dallas/Ft. Worth area is required.

Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines.
