JOB SUMMARY: The Strategic Sourcing Manager - IT Supply Chain sourcing manager builds and sustains relationships with business leaders and sourcing professionals, understands the short and long term business unit strategies, develops commodity sourcing strategies, and leads implementation of those strategies. (Commodity is defined as all tangible and intangible elements of any product, service, relationship or other category which Delta utilizes in its business.) Assists in ensuring horizontal integration with the business unit and will have primary responsibility for leading supplier selection and negotiation, managing the business relationship with suppliers, managing and tracking internal implementation and contract compliance, identification and implementation of total cost of ownership reduction opportunities, monitoring customer satisfaction and identification and implementation of best sourcing practices. Some travel is required. Practices safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures. The Competency Model associated with this position is Senior Professional; therefore, this job is incentive eligible.
Requirements:
JOB QUALIFICATIONS: A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain Management or other closely related field. An advanced degree is preferred. A minimum of two to three years' experience in Finance, Supply Chain or other closely related field is strongly preferred. A demonstrated ability to build relationships and think strategically and systemically is required. Proficiency in the following skills is also required: communication, project management, consensus building, presentation, meeting leadership, research and analysis and Microsoft Office. The following skills and competencies are strongly preferred: proficient level of commodity expertise # computer hardware, software, electronics, mainframe, internet, telecom equipment, e-commerce and computer services#, excels in managing work; financial analysis, forecasting, strategic sourcing, negotiation, contract management, communication, SAP, and value-based decision analysis. Fully competent in logistics, e-commerce/information technology, process design and improvement, financial assessment, change management, performance management, team building and resource planning and management. Proficient in never accepting limits. Fully competent in optimizing own capacity, demonstrating openness and self-confidence, driving customer-based business strategies, creating winning customer strategies, understanding the system, achieving greater results, accepting an building accountability, using judgment and common sense, systemic thinking, building organizational capability and directing the organization. Demonstrates developing ability in enhancing and sustaining the performance of others.
