Description:
Responsible for creating and championing Delta's Global Distribution Strategy. Responsibilities will include; managing eight GDS and other alternative distribution partner relationships in the areas of - operational excellence, migration to retail merchandized selling, best-in-class functionality and the optimization of Delta's $240M annual distribution expense while maintaining control of Delta's content within distribution value chain. Create, generate support for and execute strategic initiatives and organize change management plans across both internal and external stakeholders to achieve Delta's distribution goals, including the development of an IATA NDC roadmap for Delta. Lead a team of Program Managers responsible for day-to-day account activities and project management engagement. Participate in key commercial initiatives including enabling the sale of ancillary services across Delta's 3rd party sales channels. May represent Delta at industry organizations such as IATA and ARC. Provides consultative support to EMEA, Latin and Pacific business units in establishing effective distribution strategies optimizing expenses and growing revenue. Engages with JV, equity and SkyTeam partner carriers to establish best practices where applicable. Gathers market intelligence/information, evaluates contract proposals, participate in the contracting/negotiation process and monitors implementation performance. Responsible for providing timely, accurate and concise analysis and recommendations in support of the Flight Plan, Marketing and Distribution objectives. This individual will coordinate with eCommerce, Revenue Management, Sales, Finance, Marketing and other key commercial teams in positioning Delta as a market leader in 3rd Party Distribution. Practices safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.
Requirements:
3+ years of leadership experience in airline commercial organization required
Experience in Distribution, eCommerce, Revenue Management or Finance
Knowledge of airline distribution concepts including GDS and online distribution policies
Expert knowledge of DL's markets and competitive market position, sales strategies, processes, tools and infrastructure
Demonstrated leadership, planning and analytical skills in the successful execution of cross divisional initiatives
Solution oriented, multi-task capable and have demonstrated ability to work well with others in a fast paced time-sensitive environment
Demonstrated strong communication and presentation development capabilities
Self-starter with ability to achieve closure of open issues/concerns
Proven experience leading teams
Highly proficient in MS Office suite and DL business intelligence systems
