Description:

The Senior Engine Demand Planner analyzes information from multiple sources to forecast engine removal, production, and induction volume and determines its effect on Engine Maintenance, TechOps, and Delta's operations. Evaluates and communicates volume trends to functional areas within Senior Management, Finance, Propulsion Engineering, Engine Maintenance, and other Demand Planning groups on regular intervals. Responsible for monitoring and evaluating future flight schedule changes, maintenance programs changes, and future fleet size adjustments to determine their effect on engine volume. Creates ad hoc analysis during unpredictable situations using cooperation between different units to produce high level statistical models, analytic reports, or other type of data summaries for Senior Management. Works closely with Finance, Supply Chain, Supplier Ops, and MRO to manage multimillion dollar engine lease programs.

Responsible for maintaining the annual engine volume and budget plan per fleet type by providing technical and financial data to support fleet activities and to predict future demand. Works closely with other departments including Tech Ops Forecasting & Analysis, Engineering, and Engine Maintenance to maintain a long term forecast of engine removal demand. Reconciles engine asset count by monitoring part outs, fleet additions and retirements and develops plans to best monetize fleet retirements. Calculates spare engine requirements for current and new fleets and sets station allocations for spare engines and equipment by reviewing monthly RON/RAD and departure schedules.

Establishes work prioritization and balances multiple concurrent projects. Adheres to and supports group performance metrics and works toward specific group goals. Provides mentorship and encourages the professional development of the Engine Planners.

Requirements:

Undergraduate degree in a discipline concentrated in Engineering, Finance, Mathematics, Operations Management, or Accounting from an accredited university is preferred but equivalent operational and analytical experience will be considered. MBA or other advanced analytical degree is preferred. Knowledge and experience with airline technical operations with a concentration on Engine, Landing Gear, and Component production processes is preferred. Must have the ability to compile and summarize complex data to produce high level analytical and/or statistical reports. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with internal customers at all levels of the division both verbally and in writing is required. Must have strong organizational and time management skills. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access). Six Sigma certification is preferred.
