Description:
Air Arabia Jordan is the newest airline in the kingdom of Jordan. This venture is part of the first and largest low-cost carrier (LCC) in the Middle East and North Africa “Air Arabia Group of Companies”. The airline is set to operate through Amman Queen Alia International Airport in Jordan and will be its fifth fixed-based operation globally.
Air Arabia Jordan’s operation is expected to commence in the first quarter of 2015 and are looking to recruit a Senior Manager – Engineering & Maintenance.
The purpose of this role is to ensure compliance with the maintenance requirements for aeroplanes operated by the Airline in terms of the Air Operator Certificate [AOC].
Key Accountabilities:
Accountable for the definition, development, implementation and control of procedures and practices within the maintenance system in accordance with Company policies
Publishing, implementing and maintaining policies and procedures necessary to ensure the safe and effective maintenance operation for all aircraft in compliance with the airline policies, Civil Air Regulations and other relevant authorities.
Produces the Maintenance Control Manual [MCM], amends it when necessary, accounts for it, controls its distribution and ensures that all maintenance personnel comply with its provisions. Gains JCARC approval for the MCM.
Assists in managing costs and controlling the budget for maintenance operations, including capital outlay for technical systems, etc.
Assesses maintenance personnel for competency and takes action to remedy weaknesses identified in their knowledge, skills and attitude.
In consultation with the HR Department, produces training plans for maintenance staff, including courses necessary to gain approval by various licensing authorities. Supervises the tailoring of courses to suit the Airline requirements, including aircraft types.
Conducts audits on the quality of maintenance and produces reports for the Management.
Represents the Airline at JCARC on engineering, maintenance and aircraft licensing matters.
Supervises the filing of safety records and other relevant aircraft documentation.
Ensures action is taken in compliance with service bulletins received for aircraft types.

Requirements:
Qualifications & Experience:
An aircraft engineering degree or HND from a recognised university or engineering college.
15 or more years working experience in the aviation industry.
Licensing authority approved courses in aircraft engineering; JCARC approved ICAO type 2 as a basic requirement.
Possesses appropriate knowledge of the legal requirements of JCARC and EASA.
