FUNCTION: Reporting to the Manager, Technology Quality Assurance this position takes part in Porter software development and systems projects from conception to post production. As an integral part of our growing team this position plays a key role in enabling Porter’s rapidly growing business environment through technology by ensuring that our systems and products are defect free and exceed our customer and end-user expectations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Gather project documentation, and develop QA material
Work with the team to maintain, and support project deadlines
Complete test activities in a timely manner
Design, develop, and execute manual test plans and test cases
Maintaining accurate records on all tests performed as well as related results
Ensure current process standards are followed
Support create, and execute automation scripts
Actively participate in Porter’s Safety Management System (SMS), including reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understand, comply and promote the Company Safety Policy
Any other duties as requested by Manager, Technology Quality Assurance

Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering or equivalent
ISTQB Foundation Level Certification (CTFL) would be an asset
1 or more years of experience with Quality Assurance practical experience in a system and software development environment
1 or more years of experience with test automation / testing tools
Knowledge of quality assurance testing methodologies and principles
Knowledge of issue tracking systems and gathering test metrics
Some Knowledge of MS Visual Studio 2010, with understanding of object oriented programing, C# specifically.
Some knowledge of HTML and/or web development experience.
Some knowledge of SQL and database design
Ability to construct formal test cases, and provide proper documentation
Able to clearly articulate concepts and ideas both spoken and in writing
Must be able to work with team members of all skill level
