The company: An exciting new dnata division providing travel intermediary products and services.
The Positions: Plan and implement a sales, marketing and relationship strategy for internal group partners as well as future external ones. Plan, direct, manage and motivate the company sales team in order to achieve the sales targets, based on the growth strategy and revenue targets. Work closely with partners to understand their needs and communicate these to the rest of the team.
Job Outline
Develop and implement the sales strategy, including policies, channels and objectives in agreement with the company GM to achieve the short and long-term revenue growth within the agreed target markets
Analyse the market conditions to review opportunities and threats of situations and develop approaches and objectives based on the above findings and identify travel agents and companies with potential for further growth.
Direct, manage and monitor the activities of Sales teams to appraise and assess monthly targets and performance. Ensure that all internal partners are prioritised, regularly visited and professionally handled so that their needs are properly understood and satisfied
Direct the sales team on methods of influencing business partners, highlighting the specific benefits and disadvantages of adopting an alternative approach to complete the sale. Conduct annual performance reviews for all the sales staff whilst constantly reviewing the training development needs.
Manage and review travel trade developments and suggest appropriate modifications in the sales policy, to ensure profitability and explore new business prospects globally.
Manage training for travel agents, and co-ordinate between the internal as well as external partners and the company team for smooth sales and closing of transactions.
Conduct market research on competitor’s activities on pricing, promotional and other commercial initiatives and give feedback/recommendations to senior management.
Manage sales promotions, events and exhibitions as required to promote the company and the company products
Requirements:
Qualifications & Experience
University degree in a business related discipline.
5+ years of experience in leisure sales in the travel industry at a senior level capacity
Expertise in selling of leisure products, together with an excellent knowledge of geography and a clear understanding of the tourism industry.
Knowledge of tour operating and bed bank systems will be an advantage.
A proven ability to negotiate and work within a multi-national and a multi-cultural environment.
Should have a systematic and logical approach to problem solving.
Must be a strong self-motivated team player, capable of seeing and understanding the bigger picture and actively contributing to that result.
Must be analytical, patient and capable of leading and performing well under pressure with tactful and mature disposition.
