The Information Management Consultant position is part of the Business Insights Centre of Excellence (BI CoE) that is leading Qantas in using data and analytics. You will do this by creating a culture of curiosity that drives continuous innovation and by treating data as an asset and analytics as a core competency. The Business Information Analyst role will be part of a team that is the primary face of the BI CoE team to Qantas’ business, business engagement teams and analytical communities.

You will be responsible for:
Providing a primary BI Centre of Excellence business contact and resource, advising and consulting on business requirements
Establishing and managing business forums to promote information exploitation and business agreement on business definitions and governance
Developing and implementing a structured approach to dealing with business requirements
Developing a deep understanding of the business operating model, understanding both the tactical and strategic business objectives
Guiding the BI Solutions Team through the creation of the Functional/Technical requirements document and ensuring accurate business definitions , measures, dimensions, and calculations
Owning the responsibility for reviewing source mappings, business definitions, measures, dimensions, visualization design, test plan, and test cases; and ensuring they adhere to the requirements
Directing defect triage and prioritization of activities
Collaborating with the Delivery Team for the User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
Participating as a key part of the Change Management process as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to ensure smooth roll-out
Championing of business adoption of solutions and improvements to those solutions
Engaging with team members and other Centres of Excellence to leverage best practice and support BI Solutions
Promoting understanding of Business Intelligence Applications and technology environments - especially SQL, Teradata, Datastage, Cognos and any other applicable tools and processes
Maintaining knowledge of the Information Management market directions, new tools and technologies and best practices
Evaluating how market directions apply to the strategic needs of Qantas, influence and coordinate with peers and enterprise architecture to innovate and agree roll out plans
Requirements:
To be successful in this role you will display:
Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent combination of education and experience
5+ years’ experience in requirements and/or product management
Strong understanding of contemporary requirement elicitation, specification, analysis, and management methodologies
Knowledge and experience in multiple Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) approaches (Agile and Waterfall)
Strong understanding of Business Intelligence (BI) concepts like drill-down, cubes, dashboard, and scorecards with knowledge in Cognos, Microsoft Power BI
Familiarity of data warehouse concepts covering ETL/ELT (Extract Load Transform), data profiling, data models, integrated data stores, data marts, data semantic layers
Understanding of testing principles and data quality standards
Strong communication, presentation, and analytical skills which enables solutions, recommendations, strategies and actions
Adaptability and the capability of multi-tasking, time management and organizational alignment
without compromising quality
High proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project
Ability to work in a team environment and demonstrate ownership of actions
