Description:

The Certification Engineer is responsible for a variety of tasks associated with the preparation of various aspects of design and certification data in support of the companies EASA Part 21 Subpart J and MAA DAOS design organisation approvals.

Main Responsibilities of Position:

The scope of design, certification and project management activities will include:

Delegated authority from the Head of Airworthiness to liaise with the relevant Agency with respect to all aspects of type investigation.

Cooperating with the Agency in proposing the type certification basis for projects.

Assisting the Head of Airworthiness in the following tasks:

Procurement and distribution of applicable certification standards
Issuing guidelines for documenting project compliance
Interpreting certification standards and environmental protection requirements, and in the case of doubt seeking assistance from the Agency.
Advising all departments on all matters affecting any aspects of airworthiness.
Ensuring co-operation in preparing test programs required to demonstrate compliance.
Ensuring that all compliance documents are prepared and completed.
Ensuring that all changes are classified and approved in accordance with the requirements of Part 21 (21.A.91).
Ensuring that all minor changes are approved in accordance with the requirements of Part 21 (21.A.95(b)).
Maintaining a high level of awareness of current aeronautical practice with respect to all design matters within the department.
Raising reports and design queries relating to defects arising from changes to Operators, Agencies and Manufacturers (as necessary).
Ensuring compliance with certification standards and associated guidance material during the design process.

Requirements:

Minimum Requirements:

Applicants must have completed a further education course (BTEC National/ONC/HNC, etc.) in an Engineering discipline and have a minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent), to include English Mathematics and a Science subject

A minimum of 2 years proven experience of working within a Design Office environment (preferably EASA organisation) producing drawings and reports

The ability to work with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Desirable Attributes:

Experience of working within an UK MAA DAOS Organisation Environment would be a distinct advantage

A recognised degree level course with an electrical engineering bias or an apprenticeship within an Engineering environment is desirable.

The ability to work with Microsoft Access and Adobe Acrobat
