In your role, you will:

- Participate in the development, mentoring and coaching of employees; promote and recommend skill training
- Lead and provide direction to all team members to accomplish requirements and departmental goals; distribute work and communicate expected results
- Attend management meetings and organize group governance; communicate information to employees in a timely manner
- Set priorities, and manage the communication and harmonization of these priorities
- Lead/Support the design/development activities, integration and certification of critical subsystems (Landing Gear, Wheels, Brakes and Tires and associated Control Systems and controllers) within the landing gear work package onto the Global 7000/8000 using the BES guidelines
- Plan, execute and/or drive to closure design solutions by integrating all technical activities and managing the progress to achieve a quality design, on time while meeting internal and external customers requirements (Including certification agencies)
- Support the Final Line Assembly activities by providing timely resolution to production line issues related to engineering
- Support all development, Safety of Flight and Certification Testing on suppliers test rigs, systems and structures test rigs
- Support ISTCR, Ground and flight test activities including the development and approval of Test Definition Sheets, trouble-shooting technical issues, Problem Report Resolution, Test Witnessing, Test reports review and approval
- Interface with the Design Approval Delegate (DADs and CDADs) to ensure all design activities and decisions meet regulatory requirement to achieve flawless certification
- Support, as required, other systems or structures work packages
- Actively support the Achieving Excellence (AE) departmental objectives

Requirements:

Qualifications

As our ideal candidate,

- You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering from an accredited university or equivalent and eligibility for Professional Engineer registration.
- You have a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience and technical expertise (design, development, integration, certification) and people management and development.
- You are conversant with design, qualification and certification test requirements of Hydro-Mechanical systems especially in the area of Landing Gear Systems and subsytems design
- You have knowledge of control systems including system controllers’ integration and design and Software/Hardware certification (DO-160, DO-178, etc..).
- You are familiar with Part 25 certification requirements and advisory material.
- You possess strong integration skills, in both system partner management and system technical integration
- You have excellent communication skills. Bilingualism is considered an asset.
- You are familiar with Microsoft Office software tools
- This position may require some travel.
