Overview
Sr. Manager is responsible for the investigation, cost analysis and execution of modifications and repairs to aircraft, systems and components in their area. Provides technical engineering services, recommendations and trouble-shooting support to other divisions and personnel involved with aircraft systems. The Sr. Manager is responsible for providing specialized service, project and technical support for the operation, performance, modification and repair of all aircraft components.
Monitors aircraft performance to provide continuous improvement and to initiate pro-active actions to support line operations. Evaluates the benefits of the cost impact of a fleet decision to ensure an optimum balance of cost, asset utilization, quality and reliability. Represents the company to the FAA, NTSB, A4A, and other external and internal organizations regarding specific aircraft, component and engine issues.
Responsibilities
Organize and manage the priorities for the group and orchestrate the work processes to meet all the deliverables for the projects
Coordinate work extensively with other operational groups to ensure airworthiness, safety, regulatory compliance, operational reliability, and operational efficiency.
This position guides the development of complex designs and implementation plans, project justification, obtaining funding approval, management of project implementation, technical support, and obtaining FAA approvals as required
Requirements:
Qualifications
Education
B.S. degree in Engineering and/or equivalent work experience required
Advanced degree and/or A&P License preferred
Knowledge/Skills
Extensive knowledge of FARs, airworthiness design and substantiation criteria, aircraft and equipment design and operational characteristics, aircraft materials and processes required
Experience
3 -5 year’s management experience, 5-10 years engineering experience required
Other
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
