Exciting opportunity within our Freight team

Your new role will see you responsible for driving and program-managing the transformation and change agenda across Qantas Freight & Catering.



You will drive any major initiatives and activities across Qantas Freight globally, prioritising resources available and managing conflicting priorities, tracking benefits, costs associated with projects and initiatives, addressing risks and issues and ensuring projects are delivered on time and to budget.



Your core responsibilities will include:

Identifying, evaluating and articulating the strategic objectives and opportunities for Qantas Freight & Catering, not limited to managing the strategic planning process, developing appropriate strategy frameworks and documenting / communicating in appropriate format for multiple audiences
Working with the executive team and their managers to identify scope, prioritise, define and implement transformation programs and tactical initiatives that will deliver the strategic objectives
Providing support to ensure that all programs are appropriately scoped and resourced, have robust implementation plans and governance structures and that milestones and tracking processes are defined and in place
Establishing and maintaining appropriate program tracking and reporting that brings together all Freight and Catering transformation projects
Leading an ongoing pipeline of strategy projects that assess opportunities for the business; including assessment of different markets, competitors, technology and product opportunities and well as internal productivity and efficiency reviews
Preparation of project related materials for the executive, Freight Management Board and Qantas Board as required
Providing leadership, coaching and development for the members of the commercial team; managing their deployment on projects that support the business and ensuring that the team members become highly sought after resources within the Freight & Catering business, and that they individually continue to develop their skill sets across a wide range of business issues, strategic analysis techniques and project management
Driving increased engagement within the team and ensure a high performance based culture
Leveraging project and business knowledge to grow capability within broader team and identify opportunities for Qantas Freight Enterprises to integrate and leverage best practices from other areas of the Group

Requirements:

To be successful you will possess:

Senior level experience in a management / strategy consulting role or general management experience with a proven track record of success
The ability to multitask and select amongst competing priorities
Previous experience in strategy development including analytic toolkits, program scoping, change management and project delivery
Exemplary communications skills with the ability to craft board level communications and influence across all levels
Sound financial acumen and experience managing a budget
Business related degree or appropriate tertiary qualifications (MBA desirable)
Previous project management experience with a track record to success in delivery and sustainable stakeholder engagement
The ability to resolve complex issues and to structure them for others to navigate
Sound leadership experience in managing and developing successful and high performing teams
Previous experience within a logistics / freight / or airline catering environment (desirable)
