People Relations Manager
WestJet is looking for a dynamic and energetic Human Resource professional. Based in Calgary, and reporting to the Senior Manager, People Relations - Operations this professional will be a key member of the People team providing primary HR support to WestJet client groups. The People Relations Manager is an integral role assisting all levels of leadership to maximize the effectiveness of WestJet’s most valued asset…our people.
Description:
Each Manager is responsible for one or more internal client groups. They will be expected to provide a full range of human resources services to the business including compensation, benefits, organizational effectiveness and design, performance management and employee relations consulting services
Work strategically to develop the leadership in each client group
Work with leaders developing and advising on ‘people’ related issues, assisting and supporting on employee performance issues, development opportunities and terminations and providing the tools and education necessary for performance development, retention, succession planning and attrition
Educate and assist with legislation and compliance issues and work to mitigate risk
Partner with Talent Management and Clients to develop and implement workforce planning models
Liaise with WestJet Program Centers (Talent Management, Total Rewards, & Legal) on any related projects or business need
Participate in the development and execution of the Strategic People Plan
Provide input and support change management initiatives for the successful roll out and adoption of corporate Human Resource initiatives
Requirements:
Qualifications:
7 or more years of Generalist experience
A strong track record of results achieved from superior Human Resources principles and practices
A related degree is required however, equivalent experience will be considered.
Candidates with a CHRP designation will be given preference
Demonstrated knowledge of organizational effectiveness and design, having successfully led, from planning to execution, workforce and succession planning initiatives
Proven success partnering with senior leaders and executives while impacting ‘people’ decisions and influencing business behaviours
Experience driving and leading change initiatives
Possess a strong customer service orientation, with a keen ability to build positive relationships and seek creative solutions
Candidate must be an independent worker with well-established communication, facilitation, and leadership skills
Some travel may be required
