Your new role will see you responsible for over 2 million square metres of leased and freehold area, in over 100 locations and across more than 250 leases. You will manage a broad range of real estate and contractual matters ranging from property master planning, space management, leasing, subleasing and disposition and commercial contract management. In addition, you will provide strategic guidance and support for transformation initiatives and projects undertaken by Group Property.



You will also ensure we embed a continuous improvement approach across the whole portfolio including the campus facilities and functions to ensure maximum employee engagement. You will challenge legacy business processes and thinking (including culture) and engage stakeholders and team members to ensure initiative and project objectives are achieved and roadblocks are cleared.



Your core responsibilities will include:

Managing the strategic master planning for land uses and occupancies for the National footprint
Develop, utilise and promote detailed understanding of the Group Property business and provide strategic advice and support to the Head of Group Property and other leadership team members.
Real Estate operational requirements and management of all facets of the real estate portfolio management and transactions, including lease negotiation and administration
Provide ongoing assistance to Business Units and Group Property during the design phases of projects including assisting with procurement and sourcing strategies and project delivery methodology considering the project's risk profile
Proactively drive the development of Global Real Estate Policy in support of the Group strategy, whilst identifying and implementing real estate solutions that adapt to and support the business strategies at an optimum cost
As a key leader in the Property Team, implementing key changes relating to capabilities, team pride, partnering culture and systems
Full management of the Campus Services portfolio ensuring delivery and implementation of agreed policies and procedures as well as continuous improvement of the campus as an employee engagement tool
Managing supplier performance, monitoring activities undertaken by Central Procurement to ensure proper feedback is provided to the relevant entity
Collaborating with relevant stakeholders to deliver on initiatives including external stakeholders and suppliers
Actively developing and managing communications and customer relationship strategy to maintain effective, productive and positive working relationships with key stakeholders and team members
Developing a culture that actively engages the team to identify project issues and contribute options for resolution that engenders pride and focus in meeting target outcomes

Requirements:

To be successful you will possess:

Tertiary qualifications in Business Management and /or property-related field (i.e. Construction Law)
Extensive construction-related experience; and / or experience in project development, procurement strategy (highly desirable)
Previous experience within a large corporate / multi-site experience managing a diverse and large portfolio
Strong leadership skills and demonstrated experience in managing projects with multiple stakeholder interest and achieving ideal commercial positions are critical
Exemplary communication and interpersonal skills as well as established influencing and business partnering skills
The ability to build confidence with regional business managers in their ability to understand their needs and gain support for value -added commercial propositions
The ability to make critical decisions and influence and build cross functional teams, as well as dealing with ambiguity and have the initiative to provide strong value propositions
Previous experience in challenge existing thinking / processes whilst maintaining stakeholder relationships
Detailed knowledge of standard form construction contracts
The ability to understand the key drivers affecting Qantas and create business value through services and leveraging experienced knowledge, leading practices and professional services
