Description:

This position is in the Res Field Operations department and is responsible for the planning, coordination and implementation of small, medium, and large scale (20-600+ attendees) recognition events and conferences for Reservation Sales.

The job responsibilities include:

Lead the planning, production and execution of activities associated with 15+ small and large events/conferences (20 - 600+ attendees) each year for both frontline and leaders.
Negotiating and managing contractual obligations of vendors, including hotels, convention facilities, transportation and audio/video production companies as well as B2B businesses .
Managing and tracking $2-3M dollar annual budgets, within budget and maximizing value at all times.
Understands event ROI and implements system of measurement and reporting (progress and budgets) for events
Lead all on-site event management, coordinating activities of venue staff, vendors, and event support.
Reconciles billing, reviews and approves all invoices for timely processing
Partner with all levels of leadership, frontline and departments, including but not limited to, Finance, Network Planning, Revenue Management, Charter, Supply Chain Management, In-Flight On-Board Services, Communications, and Learning.
Planning and coordinating of divisional recognition events, including the Spring/Fall boosts and the quarterly 110% club luncheon.
Providing direct oversight of the annual Summit Club event, including site selection, charter coordination, venue planning, and coordination of attendees with field leaders.
Creatively source and negotiate recognition items to be utilized across the Reservation Sales and Care division.
Develop and distribute post event surveys, when appropriate, and analyze feedback. Report out on findings

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree preferred. PMP and CMP certification is highly preferred. 3-5 years' experience in planning and executing large scale events is required. Must be a highly effective communicator with strong business maturity and ability to work well with individuals at all levels within the organization. Candidate should be proactive, self-motivated, problem-solver, innovative thinker and able to work with minimal supervision. Detail-orientation, exceptional planning and organizational skills, flexibility and the ability to multi-task and prioritize are key for this role. Capable of managing highly confidential information. Should convey a professional image and be a strong team player with excellent collaboration skills. Working knowledge of Delta's policies and procedures is preferred. Must be confident to make sound, on-the-spot decisions for which there may be no written procedures. Strong knowledge and comfort working in Microsoft Office suite products (Word, Excel) is required. Travel is required, some instances, 7+ days at a time. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, at times longer hours, nights, weekends as needed for successful implementation of projects. Must be performing satisfactorily in present position.
