Job Description:
The Specialist Agency Sales Development is a data sourcing expert responsible for providing project leadership, analytical and technical support for key metrics and initiatives around agency revenue, volume and share performance reported to the Agency Sales and commercial leadership teams. Produces professional documents and reports for executive review as well as fulfilling ad hoc requests in support of key commercial initiatives. Helps to identify opportunities and develops critical analysis to support Agency Sales strategies to increase revenue penetration in key focus markets and account sectors. Maintains Sales Agency hierarchies in SOAR tool. Coordinates quarterly payment processing to Delta's agency customers. Collaborates closely with colleagues in Pricing, Revenue Management, Network Planning, Marketing, Entity Business Units, Alliances and other departments as necessary ensuring Delta is maximizing agency revenue production across the enterprise. This position will be responsible for developing next-generation reporting and data mining techniques for both strategic and tactical planning. A variety of data sources are used including SAS, Tableau, MIDT, Revenue Pipeline, Corporate Data Solution (CDS), Fair Market Share (QSI model) and external sources as needed.


Bachelor's degree in an analytical discipline plus 5 years equivalent or similar work experience is required; or post-graduate MBA with 3 years equivalent or similar work experience. General knowledge of Delta's markets and competitive market position as well as sales strategies, programs, processes, tools and infrastructure is desirable; travel industry sales/marketing experience is a plus. Should be solution-oriented, multi-task capable and have demonstrated the ability to work well with others in a fast-paced time-sensitive environment. Demonstrates initiative and self-directs work, provides mentoring and technical/analytical support to team members. Must possess demonstrable superior technical and analytical skills, sound organizational and planning skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills and a proven ability to deliver results. Highly proficient PC skills including advanced level knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point are required. Advanced relational database and data manipulation skills are required; SAS/SQL and Tableau skills are required. In-depth knowledge of Delta enterprise data environments as well as proficiency in airline economics is necessary. Expert level in business intelligence tool(s) is preferred. Has to be willing and able to travel occasionally and must be performing satisfactorily in present position.
