Qantas Ground Services (QGS) is a newly created entity under Qantas Airways. It has been established to provide ground handling services and support Qantas Airport Services when required.

With the opportunity to work in an environment that fosters strong workplace relationships and inspires flexibility, your new position as Ground Crew you will be responsible for delivering total customer satisfaction by accurately and efficiently handling the movement of freight around and within the Freight terminal whilst adhering to the highest safety standards.

You will be responsible for:

The safe and secure physical handling of freight and mail including the build-up and check-in of freight within service standards.
The safe operation of forklifts and tugs and other materials handling equipment and hoists in accordance with OH&S requirements.
Operating communication aids and computer equipment as required including the freight warehousing system.
Compiling reports and documents, eg. Accident/Incident reporting, damage reports, truck manifests etc.
Complying with freight processes and procedures and work instructions.
Demonstrating a helpful and courteous customer service attitude at all times.

Are you:

Looking for a casual rotating shift position?
Available to work a 7 day rotating shift roster covering a 24 hour operation (Minimum 4hrs to Maximum 7hrs)?
A safety conscious, hardworking and reliable individual?
Holder of a valid provisional or full state/territory drivers licence and able to drive manual vehicles?
Holder of a valid forklift licence with a minimum 12 months previous experience driving a forklift in a warehouse environment?
Physically fit and able to perform regular lifting duties of up to 32kgs?
A team player?

You must be available for the following if successful through the various recruitment steps:

Attend a 3hr assessment centre.

The recruitment process will also require you to pass:

Medical Check including health & fitness and Alcohol and Other Drugs test; and
Security / Background Check including Federal Police Check.
