Description:
The Specialist-SME Technology will report to the Manager-SME Strategy and is responsible working closely with the Sales Information Technology team to deliver capital and operational technology projects that support the growth of small-medium enterprise (SME) revenue. He or she will accomplish this by communicating SME business needs and priorities and by seeking out subject matter experts within Sales and other Delta groups in order to possess an understanding of the relevant systems, capabilities, and respective technologies and objectives. In addition, he or she will analyze the various projects for implications and opportunities for the Sales organization and effectively summarize the findings. The position demands a high degree of initiative and drive and requires the ability to manage several projects simultaneously, to include:
Delivering SME capital projects on-time and under budget
Working with Sales Information Technology team to prioritize and implement program enhancements
Partnering with the Delta Sales Support team to track and monitor technology-related inquiries
Identifying opportunities to improve the SkyBonus customer experience through new projects
The Specialist will participate in a variety of project meetings including kick-off meetings, requirements gathering sessions and design sessions, as needed. He or she will also participate in required testing, troubleshooting and use case development. This position will represent Sales' SME customers, identify program concerns and benefits, and act as a liaison between Sales and other business and IT teams. He or she will provide routine and frequent progress updates to Sales leaders.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in business, technical or analytical discipline required. MBA and three or more years of relevant work experience is preferred. General knowledge of Global Sales strategies, programs, processes, tools and infrastructure is useful; proven project management required. Should possess strong analytical skills and technical knowledge in order to understand relevant processes and address business needs.
Candidate must have a high degree of verbal skills to facilitate, build trust and influence outcomes with an executive-level or customer-facing audience. Must have the proven ability to work well with diverse groups in a time-sensitive environment with little supervision, be results-oriented, and capable of meeting or exceeding deadlines with attention to detail and follow-through. Must be self-motivated, and have superior quantitative, analytical, financial, negotiation and organizational skills. A proven track record of successfully working in a cross-departmental team environment and delivering results on time and on budget required. Advanced computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are required. Experience with database and analysis software tools such as Hyperion/BRIO and web analytics tools is required.
