Your new position as Manager Treasury Accounting & Reporting will have a key focus on management and reporting of monthly P&L, Cash flow and balance sheet results including forecast and budget results alongside detailed accounting analysis and policy compliance for all treasury transactions.


Working closely with the Manager Treasury Operations this position will ensure treasury hedging transactions are compliant to achieve hedge accounting wherever possible.


Your main responsibilities will include:

Maintenance of accounting records and production of management, statutory and taxation reporting for transactions entered into by Group Treasury
Accounting for the hedging of the Group’s revenue base, interest rate exposures and fuel expense
Perform and manage the reconciliation and analysis of various Treasury balances, meeting monthly reporting deadlines
Ensure P&L, Cash flow and Balance sheet movements are correctly reflected in Treasury and Group results to assist in deriving the Group cash flow
Prepare the monthly Balance sheet forecast and reconcile Treasury movements to the Statutory cash flow results.
Co-ordinate the interest rate variance analysis for monthly Management and CFO reporting.
Manage the accounting the Debt including debt derivatives
Prepare monthly analysis of hedging gains and losses to be allocated to Qantas Segments
Assist in further developments of the Group cash flow models to improve cash flow forecast and FX allocation across the Group results
Review and authorise Treasury payments (approx A$2.0bn per month with individual payment values ranging from A$100 to A$100m).

Requirements:

What you’ll bring to the role:

Minimum CA/CPA qualification
Minimum 5-7 years’ experience in large corporate environment, bank, or treasury specific audit/advisory function
Strong knowledge of treasury instruments (FX, interest, and commodity)
Strong knowledge of A-IFRS and its application to financial instruments, derivatives (including all FX, options, interest rate, and commodity hedging transactions), and leases
of the financial framework and ROIC application
Ability to debate technical accounting and Treasury issues at a senior level.
Strong management reporting skills
Ability to work to strict timetable requirements.
Experience with Quantum Treasury System & Reval preferred but not essential.
