In your role as Senior Engineer - Cabin Systems, you will join a small but experienced team that is responsible for the maintenance program of cabin products and also continued airworthiness aspects across Qantas fleets and customer aircraft. A multi-faceted role, you will be a primary point of contact for internal stakeholders such as line maintenance, flight operations, customer experience and external vendors.
Prioritising a considerable workload in a rapidly changing environment, you will contribute directly to delivering world class fleet reliability and cabin experience for passengers of the Qantas Group.
Your main responsibilities will include:
Reviewing Service Literature including Airworthiness Directives (ADs) and actioning in accordance with the Modifications Policy
Preparing business cases and raise Opex / Capex requests
Carrying out AD peer reviews
Developing modification and inspection programs to mitigate fleet technical risks
Managing configuration in information systems, including life-limit controls and inter-changeability
Developing, maintain & optimise airframe and component System of Maintenance (on-wing and off-wing maintenance programs)
Monitoring airframe and component performance and reliability
Identifying and instruct actions to prevent impending operational issues & to improve operational performance
Identifying opportunities to improve operational performance and cost of ownership
Providing specialist technical support to Qantas fleet and customer airlines
Maintaining relationships with OEM and suppliers and manage regular Supplier Review Meetings
Communicate to internal and external stakeholders and ensure their expectations are met
Requirements:
What you’ll bring to the role:
Significant experience in a technical role is required, preferably with Cabin Mechanical background
Degree qualifications in Engineering with extensive aviation experience
Working knowledge of aircraft maintenance systems, configuration control and IT systems
Ability to work with OEM's and STC holders in the provision of services, parts and on-going support
Understanding of FAA, EASA & CASA regulatory requirements for aircraft design, operation and aircraft maintenance
Project management experience and/or training
Self-motivated and with demonstrated ability to work under pressure as part of a team
Time management skills to ensure completion of planned work and tasks
Sound written and verbal communication skills
High levels of communication and organisational skills
