As a Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for the financial & management reporting, risk and governance framework for New Ventures within the Qantas Loyalty segment. You will lead the financial stream of New Ventures by supporting the leadership team to set the strategy and the development, delivery and management of new business concepts.

Your main responsibilities will include:

Establishing and maintaining an effective financial reporting and governance framework for New Ventures
Capital and business project evaluation and recommendation
Lead the development of Financial and Management Reporting for New Ventures and commercial opportunities
Provide support for Group strategic overlay
Accountable for the financial position (P&L, Balance Sheet & Cash flow) and performance
Supporting the business by providing analytical and appraisal skills
Identify and manage all accounting, taxation and other financial matters for New Ventures including new commercial opportunities

Requirements:

What you’ll bring to the role:

Tertiary accounting qualifications CA/CPA Qualified with extensive experience in accounting and finance
Broad based management experience in a large/listed corporation
Significant experience in the management of complex finance processes and the delivery of management and statutory reporting requirements within a publicly listed company
Involvement in strategic development and implementation
Thorough understanding of accounting concepts and techniques with a detailed knowledge of both general and Qantas financial control and budgeting procedures
Consolidation and Statutory reporting experience
Previous exposure to financial analysis, forecasting and budgeting processes
Strong spreadsheet and modelling skills
Understanding of the principles and practices of project management
Demonstrated skills in performance management, people management, influencing and training
