An opportunity exists for an experienced professional to join our team in the position of Principal Strategy Analyst. This challenging role will see you working on a wide variety of high impact projects, often involving complex and detailed analysis of current business and/or industry performance in order to facilitate a business decision. In some cases the team will continue to support the business in detailed design and/or implementation of the decision. You will develop hypotheses, lead research and analysis and write clear, well-structured reports and presentations.
Your main responsibilities will include:
Leading the analysis of complex issues
Interpreting complex information and developing recommendations for presentation to and use by senior management in the formation of strategic plans
Conducting detailed research and extracting data from a variety of sources to support analytical tasks
Drafting executive reports and contributing to the preparation of high quality output for presentation to the Board, CEO, CFO and other senior management
Developing strong and effective relationships within Qantas Group businesses
Managing analytical documentation processes for senior management
Requirements:
What you’ll bring to the role:
Degree level qualifications
Previous experience working in a reputable professional services firm, with a proven track record of success
Proven analytical, financial and problem solving skills
The ability to work in and contribute to a high performing, collaborative and fun team environment
A high level of computer literacy with extensive knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint
An outcome-oriented approach - be resourceful and highly organised with proven ability to prioritise conflicting tasks in order to meet strict deadlines
A structured and lateral-thinking style with the intellectual capability to quickly understand and apply new concepts
Emotional intelligence and the maturity to deal with sensitive and confidential business projects
The ability to work successfully both independently and in cross functional teams
Well-developed communication skills and the ability to effectively deal with individuals from a variety of backgrounds
A high level of commitment and professionalism
A strong interest in the airline industry and a desire to gain knowledge and experience across a variety of Qantas Group businesses
