As a Financial Accountant, your work will see you responsible for accounting, forecasting and variance analysis for Manpower across key business areas. Located within the Centre of Finance Excellence (CoFE) and reporting to the Finance Manager, the Financial Accountant will also provide support for month end processes including month close and forecast

Your main responsibilities will include:

Finalisation of complex month end journals fully supported with meaningful calculations and liaising with the relevant business unit(s) as required to finalise month end
Supporting the Finance Manager with the review process of month end results as well as performing variance analysis and providing meaningful insights on major variances
Completion of the forecast process (includes an Annual budget) for relevant business units, including seeking input from relevant business unit stakeholders as well as collaboration with the decision support team
Performing complex reconciliations (where appropriate) as well as clearance of reconciling items
Supervision and mentorship of junior members of the team with respect to forecasting, journals, balance sheet reconciliations as well as ensuring that any clearance items are addressed in a timely manner
Developing a detailed understanding of complex driver based forecast models for manpower and ensuring accuracy and flexibility is maintained and supply scenarios when required
Developing and maintaining strong relationships within the Finance community and working effectively with the central finance function (CoFE and FSS) including the Payroll team
Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in own area and other areas of the business where possible

Requirements:

What you’ll bring to the role:

Tertiary qualifications in Accounting and / or Finance or equivalent experience
An understanding of accounting concepts and techniques & a post graduate qualification (e.g. CPA/CA)
Detailed knowledge of financial control and governance procedures in addition to high level financial modelling skills
Strong technical capability and experience with specific financial software
Previous experience within a similar role in a large / complex corporate environment
Demonstrated ability to communicate with all levels of staff and management both verbally and in writing & supervisory experience desirable
Effective time management and ability to work autonomously in a fast paced environment in order to meet tight deadlines
